YaLa - Young Leaders on Facebook

Project Aim

YaLa-Young Leaders is an online, Facebook-based movement promoting dialogue and engagement as means to securing a productive, safe and peaceful region. YaLa-Young Leaders is dedicated to empowering young people from across the Middle East to lead their generation to a better future.

How It Works

Since its launch in mid 2011, YaLa has become the broadest and fastest-growing online regional change movement today, with almost 1 million members. YaLa implements various projects, both online and face to face, bringing together young leaders and strengthening their sense of community and accountability including joint delegations to football matches in cooperation with FC Barcelona, a tech summer camp in cooperation with Microsoft, photography contests and more. In January 2012, YaLa held the first ever Online Regional Peace and Economics Conference using the Israeli technology avatar "Shaker", attracting 40,000 young leaders and receiving wide media coverage. YaLa runs several projects, namely the Aileen Getty School of Citizen Journalism and the YaLa Academy, in cooperation with international and regional academic institutes and private sector companies. These programs offer online courses with the best professors and experts in their fields, on a wide range of subjects that address the urgent issues and needs of the region. Join YaLa today!
