Organized 5 successful workshops in Israel and the West Bank with more than 200 leading Palestinian farmers and agriculturalists.

Profitable Crop Production

Project Aim

This project promotes profitable crop production in the West Bank by providing technical consultations, vegetable seeds and training in farming practices to a Palestinian agricultural cooperative.

How It Works

This project trains Palestinian Farmers from West Bank cooperatives in new techniques and agricultural practices for improving their agricultural yields. This project promotes working with modified seeds that produce resilient crops, and applying methods to overcome specific diseases caused by pests and high-stress conditions. By enhancing the capacities of the local farmers toward international standards, the farmers are able to increase the marketability of their produce for selling locally and abroad. Cherry tomatoes and sweet pepper seeds were donated by Syngenta - Zeraim Gedera to a Palestinian agricultural cooperative in Jenin. Members of the cooperative planted the seeds in several rotations during 2011, which have since developed into thriving, high-quality vegetables. The training workshops are made possible by the Fund for Reconciliation, Tolerance and Peace.
