The Legacy of Shimon Peres

The legacy of the Ninth President of Israel and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Shimon Peres, is profound. From his early days on Kibbutz Alumot to his time serving as the Secretary of the Working and Studying Youth and his extensive work with Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, the quick wit, cunning sense of humor, and natural ingenuity of President Peres was evident.

President Peres always dreamed big dreams. He hoped for peace and always looked to the future. His efforts inspired individuals, nations, and global leaders alike. EU – working with High Representative of Foreign Policy Mogherini to establish an annual memorial in Brussels commemorating the legacy of President Peres


UN – efforts are being made to hold a memorial event for President Peres around International Day of Peace (September 2017).
