Palestinian-Israeli Girls Football Team 2008-9

In October 2008, for the very first time, a mixed football team comprised of Palestinian and Israeli girls was established in order to compete in the Israeli Youth League for Girls. Aged 12 to 15 years, and hailing from Kiriyat Gat and Beit Safafa, the young girls are "graduates" of the “Twinned Peace Sport Schools” program who were thrilled with the offer to continue their football and cross-cultural interaction.

The girls are being coached by two former Israeli league players, and veteran coaches of the “Twinned Peace Sport Schools” program, who initiated the involvement of this unique team in the league.

The Peres Center is delighted to assist and support the girls’ team, which allows the youngsters to continue their contact and interaction beyond the framework of the program.
