The Twinned Peace Sports Schools program has reached over 20,000 children and youth, boys and girls, Arabs and Jews, Israelis and Palestinians.

Boys Football

About the Project

Since 2002 this project has provided Israeli and Palestinian boys aged 6-14 from peripheral and disadvantaged communities with extra-curricular football activities in order to instill values of peaceful coexistence and encourage self-development through sport over a significant period of time.

Project Aim

Boys participate in bi-weekly football training in their communities, and monthly joint activities with their Israeli and Palestinian or Jewish and Arab counterparts where they play in mixed teams and participate in peace education and inter-language learning activities, getting to know each other through the common medium of sport.

New entrants are encouraged to continue participating in the program for a number of years in order to successfully foster a profound appreciation of peace and achieve other aims related to fitness improvement and self-development.

The highlight of the year is the 'Mini Mondial' , in which the boys from the entire program come together to play in their mixed teams in a tournament modelled on the World Cup.

Do you believe that the next generation can create a more peaceful society? Support the Peres Center's work to allow more children to form friendships with the 'other side' and break down barriers at a young age.
