Over 30,000 children and youth, boys and girls, Arabs and Jews, Israelis and Palestinians have participated in Peres Center activities over the last 20 years.

Coexistence Kindergartens

Project Aim

This project brings together Arab-Israeli and Jewish-Israel kindergarten children aged 4-6 from culturally diverse cities across Israel such as Jerusalem and Jaffa, who despite living in these cities, have very little opportunity for formalized interaction. The project improves participants' basic motor skills and fosters cooperation and teamwork, instilling self-confidence, sportsmanship, discipline and understanding from a young age.

How It Works

In cooperation with the Israel Tennis Center, the project has been running since 2004. The children meet weekly to participate in a joint session delivered in both Hebrew and Arabic. Activities involve motor skill development (coordination, posture, and depth perception), as well as peace education, allowing youngsters of different backgrounds to learn about each other.

The project is run in parternship with the Israeli Tennis Center
