Over 30,000 children and youth, boys and girls, Arabs and Jews, Israelis and Palestinians have participated in Peres Center activities over the last 20 years.

Football Village for Hope

Project Aim

This project provides Israeli and Palestinian children aged 10-14  from disadvantaged communities with much needed formalized activities. Each cycle 100 children attend a  mixed Israeli-Palestinian holiday and football training camp at a Kibbutz in Israel.

How It Works

The children enjoy a variety of sport activities, led by leading male and female coaches. Further to the sporting activities, children participate in social activities and outings which promote understanding, cooperation, and friendship between them. The intensive experience (which includes eating, sleeping, swimming and playing together) leaves a meaningful impression on the children, who return home to spread the message of peace, tolerance and understanding to their families, friends, and communities. These children become leading participants in the Twinned Peace Sports Schools program encouraging other Israeli and Palestinian children to connect through sport.

This project was supported by the Irish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Adidas and was initiated by Ophir Zardok.
